You slip away
like a morning dream,
fading, in the bliss of sunshine,
in the forgotten meadows of fall.

And the summer dreams rested,
In the golden hues of fall.
It was like…
it was meant to be,
finding you at summer’s end,
where all things fall,
through the dotted lines…
of gold and red,
finding you at summer’s end.

In between summer and fall,
you lay mute,
in the golden haze
of a timeless dream,
watching the seasons transition.

That day…
Autumn lay on winter’s breath,
Serenading nature with their love.

And when November left,
the cold winds brought fresh snow
to dust over the fallen dreams
and rebuild them with hope
and enchantment.

Only yesterday,
you were collecting summer dreams…
in a fistful of sunshine
and heart full of hope,
and now you lay,
on the cool green grass
and watch them fall
in golden hues and crimson reds
like the open sky above you,
flying gently in the autumn breeze,
only yesterday…

When you smile,
my heart teeters
on the edge of logic,
fluttering like a wild butterfly
following the sun,
when you smile.
