What happens when
the long winter
never goes away
from your mind?
And the world,
leaves you behind,
leaping into spring…

Contemplation of the quiet mind…
as it slowly rewinds
the cascading waves
of thoughts
falling in an infinite abyss
of feelings
that drift in your eyes
floating in the skies
of everlasting dreams
drifting with the winds
of dark storms
looming at the edge of the sea
as you fly free
in the pouring rain
of the subdued pain
of the world
floating gently
with the contemplation…
of the quiet mind.
You did not know
where to begin
as you stood on the edge of your thoughts
trying to find sense
in the nonsensical rhymes
of the rain
pouring outside your window
tapping on the cold pebbles
of your heart
displacing logic
a tad bit to the left
of what you felt was right…
you did not know.

There are times
when your reflection
reminds you of the person
you used to be…
your identity
fluid
changing with every experience
and every mirror
showing a different side,
of who you have become.

There you were
Feeling the cold breeze of December 29th
Against your face,
Waking up the memories of 2016…
You peeked back, sliding cautiously,
Through your mind…
As your feet did the same on the icy patches of the road
Another year gone…
So many changes
Affecting so many lives
The world didn’t stop…
You stopped looking back…
You looked at the sky
And inhaled the cold wind of December 29th
Rejoicing this singular moment you felt alive.

Paint your dreams on the sky
with gentle strokes of the breeze
that caress your mind…
let your thoughts splatter,
in wild strokes of unrestrained emotions,
Open like the blue vastness above you,
let your heart fold around the curvature of the earth,
spread your love …
Paint your dreams on the sky.
