A rather special collaboration of Poets for Peace has just had its efforts published in PDF form. A wonderful thing.
I was glad to provide 2 pieces for the collaboration: https://frankprem.wordpress.com/2016/08/02/zlatas-daughter/ and https://frankprem.wordpress.com/2016/08/02/song-of-freedom/.
Check it all out, it’s a very fine effort, I thin.
Cheers,
Frank

I am so proud to be a part of this because with the collaboration of people from all over the world, you gave a platform for all voices on such an important topic. I heard the voices from California, from the UK, Ireland, Fellow Chicagoans, etc… voices of real people, in the everyday, of all ages, speak about peace. This is a treasure, this is what it is all about with a fantastic energy lifting one another up to stand firm, and stand together. Wonderful! I am so excited here reading all the poems, listening to the heart of poets, emotionally moving through different insights and perspectives. Yes, definitely, I;m honored to be with such great company. I am also grateful to you, Michael and Marie for all of your hard work and dedication and to Praxis and Stanford for honoring unity and vision. 🙂

Honored to be a part of this poetry collaboration about peace and stopping the violence. Mine is focused on inner peace and ending violence toward ourselves through suicide. It can be found on p. 88. But check them all out, they are awesome! We must stop the violence. Let peace begin with me!

What a wonderful project, and to have so much input from around the world? Impressive. With the exception of plans for “bigger and better” next year, what are the long term goals of this project? This is, to a large degree, “preaching to the converted”, so are there any plans to use this collaboration such that the message of peace is broadcast to a wider audience? Being archived at Stanford is really nice for posterity, but are there no plans for exploiting this work to further peace at an International level? Just some thoughts, and my apologies in advance if I have missed something! That is happening more as I get older! 🙂
September 21, 2016 at 10:57 am
Thank you so much and for your thoughts, we are in the process of seeing what we can do for next year…given this was a spur of the moment project when we got started, we are proud of our accomplishments but as you pointed out there is still work to be done 🙂
