thoughts from my mind to yours

Words we don’t say

And though days go by
without a single mention of your name
you are there…
in words we don’t say…
at the grocery store
when our feet takes us to the pet isle
as if it has forgotten its way,
just to remember this squeaky dog toy
will no longer be yours;
when we miss
our best greeter
to love us with slobbery kisses and barks…
when we close our eyes
and hold on to the memories a little tighter
for they alone heal
this heavy feeling in our hearts.

You are there, everywhere…
for the love we hold
goes beyond the distance we share…
and you my dear Oreo are loved
in earth or in heaven…
Happy Birthday!

This would have been Oreo’s 15th Birthday. We all miss him very much, this is the first birthday he celebrates in heaven and we send him eternal kisses and hugs. We love you!

Memories

So many memories,

fall like enchanted rain,

of another time, another place…

When you held my hand, and hugged me,

cupped my little face, in your palms…

and now as I stare at the clear skies,

waiting with the deep blue ocean,

as the wind blows by,

I hug you in my heart…

hoping, my hand will reach your soul.

In my dreams…

Calm night across the river,

That’s hard to see in the middle of day.

Calm night across the river,

Where there is no farmer to make hay.

Calm night across the river,

Where large waves slowly capsize.

Calm night across the river,

Where moon lights brightly every night.

It’s the place where the trees dance,

Giving off a gentle breeze,

It’s where we all rest when we hand in our day’s keys.

Calm night across the river,

It’s the place I see in my dreams.

Art is colourful

Art is plain

Art is happy

Art is pain

Art is busy

Art is peaceful

Art is loud

Art is mindful

Art is people

Art is buildings

Art is nature

Art is yielding…

to what you make of it

Art is undefined

a fragment of thought

deeply carved in the mind of the artist

who brings it to the world

sometimes like a child

that needs protection

from the world it was created

Art is abstract

Art is solid

Art is stagnant

Art is fluid

like seasons…

winter to spring

spring to summer

summer to fall…

falling through every emotion

of the human heart

Art has perspective

Art has no reason

Art is innocent

Art is bold

Art is revolutionary

Art lives in your soul

Art…Art…Art…

can never be killed…

it is whole.

Believe

Tonight’s Quote:

“I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge. That myth is more potent than history. That dreams are more powerful than facts. That hope always triumphs over experience. That laughter is the only cure for grief. And I believe that love is stronger than death.” Robert Fulghum

Remembering…

Remembering you and your bearded smile,

Like nine years have not gone by,

with our heart full of memories,

of yesterday…

**Dedicated to my uncle who passed away in 2005. It is  sometimes hard to believe nine years have passed  since the day.
