thoughts from my mind to yours

Words we don’t say

And though days go by
without a single mention of your name
you are there…
in words we don’t say…
at the grocery store
when our feet takes us to the pet isle
as if it has forgotten its way,
just to remember this squeaky dog toy
will no longer be yours;
when we miss
our best greeter
to love us with slobbery kisses and barks…
when we close our eyes
and hold on to the memories a little tighter
for they alone heal
this heavy feeling in our hearts.

You are there, everywhere…
for the love we hold
goes beyond the distance we share…
and you my dear Oreo are loved
in earth or in heaven…
Happy Birthday!

Open Letter to 22

Dear 22,

I see you
In my rearview,
Smiling,
Stark contrast to the crying baby,
I now hold in my arms.

22 I see you,
Twirling in the perfect dress
In your ‘perfect’ shape that you call
A ‘work in progress’…
Unknown of the scars you will bear
When birthing your child…
Unknown of the uphill climb it will take
To get back to this shape,
You may or may not reach,
While you struggle to find,
The ‘now perfect’ dress
That will hide, your imperfections.

22 I see you,
Wake up early
for your first real job
After a good night’s sleep
While I go on my 2nd day with no sleep
And a sick baby… But 22, I want you to know I adore you,
I am proud of you for chasing your dreams
And smiling against all odds,
Just like how you will smile,
With a sick baby in your arms
Reminiscing about the times you were young
But never for once trade who you have become…
A warrior with battles to fight
A cook that creates a storm at night
A lover who lives to love
And above all
A mom,
Who holds this baby in her arms…
22, I see you.

Happy Birthday Oreo!

Hello Everyone,

Hope you all are having a great weekend so far, since you all have been part of Oreo’s recovery journey from his last eye surgery I wanted to share it’s his bday today! These pics were taken prior to his surgery… he still has to wear his cone until his eye heals completely ( will take another month or so). But he has been a champ and still remains the cutest boy ever! ❤ ❤ Thank you all for the love that you have shown to my little fur brother!

Much Love to You All

Neha

How do you celebrate or would like to celebrate your birthday?

Hi Everyone,

So my birthday is coming up this Wednesday and I wanted to ask my fellow friends and bloggers as to what you do or would like to do to celebrate your birthday?

As for myself, I like spending time with family, perhaps have some good food and do things that make me happy. I say a quick thanks to be alive and to be surrounded by loved ones:)

My Blessing

I remember the day you came,

I could hold you in the palm of my hands,

your little paws were so tiny,

but you trusted us in this land.

You have grown so much over the years,

but no matter how old you may be…

You will always be my precious blessing,

my little Olie baby.

Oreo celebrated his 10th Birthday last week, the above picture is one of the new toys he got.

Recently he had a vet visit and was told that he may need to get a surgery. We will get a second opinion but I ask all of you for your love and prayers for his good health. He is the best little fur brother in the world ❤ Thank you all and much love to you!

On Goodbyes and See You laters

It is always hard for me to say goodbye, and so I tend to stick to ‘see you later’ in my mind for the people I love. I found it ironic when the thought of goodbye popped in my mind for my first post in my new blog. But perhaps, it was that “ see you later” I was clinging on to…

In our last visit, my grandfather told us to lead our life in a way so when we leave, our life can act as a guide to lost souls who are trapped in their thoughts/journey to help them move forward. He was quoting a poem, I can’t quite recall my memory not being as sharp as his at 95. I digress, the point is he told us that on the last day of our visit and he was/is inspiring. Perhaps I will never remember the exact quote, but I will never forget the meaning behind it. And when I next say goodbye to a loved one I want them to know…

I will remember their smiles and their weird laughs

I will remember that random story that connected us

I will remember their madness

I will remember their quirks

I will remember sunlit afternoons

I will remember paper boats and storms

I will perhaps even faintly remember the lines on their hands

I may not remember all the words exchanged between us but I will remember their heart, and no matter how far the distance in time or in miles that pass between us,  to their heart I shall say “ See you later” …

Happy Birthday, to the most amazing Dadubhai  (Grandpa)!

Picture below is of my grandparents with my husband and I when we had visited them in India last year. 🙂

Happy Birthday, Ma

Hope…

All your dreams find paradise

Pleasantly sailing

And forever young

Hope…

Dawn always greets your eyes

And you fall asleep

To love songs

Thank you for always being there

And showing how much you care

You are the foundation for my words

I still remember you teaching me the “ abcs”

For that, today I can greet you,

With a little poetry

Hope you know how much I love you,

and how much you mean to me

You are the most amazing woman I know

and the best mom that can ever be

Happy Birthday!
