Hello Everyone,

It has been a while since I have done a poetic collaboration and I thought with fall approaching soon this would be a great time to do one. The theme of this collaboration is ‘letting go’ ( letting go of a person, season, loss, grief, dreams, anger, hate or any other emotion or object that you may choose to write about). Everyone is welcome to participate and I will add your contribution in the order they come and list the author (and blog link if listed) beneath the post. You may contribute as many times as you wish. Please note that hateful language is not acceptable and I will remove any post I find inappropriate. If you want to see a previous example of my collaborations you can visit here.  Please add your contributions in the comment section. Please include the actual verse…

#PoetsforPeace Collaboration Reminder

Hello Everyone,

My heart is saddened to see what continues to go on in this world…but we must continue to find hope and spread peace and do what we can to restore the love and peace in humanity.

I just wanted to remind you all that #PoetsforPeace collaboration initiated by my friend Michael and hosted here at forgottenmeadows is still open. We have over 85 contributions from around the world and I am amazed by the powerful messages shared. Let’s continue to unite together to spread peace… to join simply add your piece in the comment section of the collaboration post. Please share #poetsforpeace and watch this collaboration grow.

My friend Brad has also started a #peacechallenge, and I hope you join his effort and together we all stand strong behind peace.

Below is my contribution for both challenges.

You Let Go…

You let go

of your gains and losses

and walked with your dreams

stopping to wonder …

at the colours of the trees

the serenity of the cool breeze

the smell of the flowers

And there were no minutes or hours

that bound you…

To go on the adventure

of your heart

to follow

what you always wanted to start

but was held back

by some mindless banter of your mind

which was trying to define

who you were

and what you were meant to be

So you let go…

and became free…

to walk your journey

with your heart full of dreams

and eyes full of imagination

of where you could go…

you let go…

“Under the Sun”

“I will be the gladdest thing
Under the sun!
I will touch a hundred flowers
And not pick one.”
― Edna St. Vincent Millay “Afternoon on a Hill”
