Why do you hide me
to plaster a smile on your face
when you see them?
Why do you shred me in pieces
analyzing every angle,
tormenting your already tormented heart?
Why do you cradle me
with your favourite old school tune,
and drown in nostalgia,
on a lazy Saturday afternoon?
Why am I kept in this dusty part of your mind that is always so foggy
that you have a hard time accepting if I ever was real?
Why do you keep years worth of love stored away…
Is perhaps what the memory would say, if it could question the mind.
