Going through a strange sort of melancholy…of all my dreams,
the ones that made me smile and the ones that were shattered,
the ones that gave me hope and the ones that left me broken,
I don’t know if I want to dwell on these,
but it’s crescent moon tonight…
I think I will lose myself and dream with the stars again…
strange sort of melancholy,
pull on my heartstrings.

IT’S THE WEIRD DREAMS THAT KNOCK ME OVER! THE MELANCHOLY ONES WE THINK ABOUT…ROLLING THEM OVER IN OUR MINDS…DON’T WE?

I think you described a deep part of living life “partly” 😉 as a human. I’ve often had the thought, if ever a dream of mine becomes a burden, hope wearing me down, it’s time to set it free. If it truly is for me, it will come back. And perhaps even in a new and more magical form than I could imagine. Just like love. It perhaps just needs some time off to stretch its wings again and fly among the stars…. anyway, your beautiful melancholic words Neha, brought that thought up once again.

It’s truly wonderful to have written something one can return to now and again and still find resonance in. Makes those poems timeless, like this one.
Always a pleasure, glad I could bring a thought to your comment box 🙂
